How was it?

These are some of the comments made by people who have come to the drop-in.

I come to the drop-in to see everyone. To tell you the truth, it's the best drop-in in Manchester. I would like there to be more drop-ins.

- Peter, May 2002

The drop-in has a friendly, family atmosphere and the staff/client relationship is one of cooperation, rather than telling you what to do. I first came about five years ago when the drop-in used to be open every day. Now there is a more structured programme which makes for a more friendly atmosphere.

- Paul S., June 2002

I used to fill up my day with working in a hospital and I find the diversity of people at the drop-in similar to people I met at the hospital, which I like. We have a common link of being destitute and often stangers to Manchester and I found it useful to meet people who could understand me and give me useful information.

The drop-in is a place that's needed in harsh situations some people find themselves in. Anyway, I come here because I just like coming here, it keeps my mind occupied.

- James, May 2002

It gives me something to do. It helps me to sort my benefits out. If its raining, it's a place to have a hot drink and stay dry.

- Colin, January 2006

The reason why the Drop-in was first started is because bad news of the homeless people in Manchester. The Drop-in offers help and advice to the people. If it wasn't for the Booth centre, God knows what state Manchester homelessness would be in.

The Drop-in is good because it is helpful. It can help you find accomodation. it is also help with things like doctors

- Adam, January 2006

I can't come every day because I live too far from here. When I meet other people on the street, I share whatever I have with them - food, money, everything.

- Smid, January 2006

The Drop-in is very good. People are nice and friendly.

- Antony, January 2006

The staff are very helpful. They do their best to try to sort out any problems I have.

- John, January 2006

- Raymond, January 2006

I think the Drop-in is great + can be enjoyable and a chance to meet new people.

- James, January 2006

It's an excellent centre with warm, friendly and inviting atmosphere. I also enjoy talking to different people from different backrounds from different nationalities, different lifestyles. Everyone is equal and accepted as they are. I get a lot of pleasure and enjoyment from attending. Since I first came I have been accepted and welcomed.

- Chantelle, January 2006

I like coming here because I have chance to meet new people.

- Chris, February 2006

Drop-in is a good place you can have a drink and just get warm, have a sandwich, and talk to people. If not, you can just sit there and no one bothers you.

- Jason, February 2006

It is important to have a centre where you can come for a chat and a drink. Some people like myself, feel isolated with my feeling, but free to express myself with the advice of others. The centre is of importance as it gives people the chance to express themselves in different areas of what the centre has to offer. I find the centre is an activity as you make the decision to socialise with others und to understand others personalities.

- Gary, February 2006

I come a long time. I know people here. I've got used the staff. They developed me a lot.

- John Roberts, February 2006

The Drop-in is very variable. I'm coming for company and hot drinks. It's very useful when you don't have any money and food.

- Gerry, February 2006

It's a handy place to come for me. When I come into the city centre for my methadone, only complaints are the "NO SMOKING" policy and that it's only open twice a week.

- Paul Smyth, February 2006

Good quality food, hot and cold drinks, fresh fruit, friendly, relaxing atmosphere on Tuesdays and Thursdays with plenty of conversation.
