Sponsored Walks

In May 2002 we did a sponsored walk from Hebden Bridge to Haworth. We were raising money for a literacy and health project in the Ivory Coast. This is a photo of the people in the Ivory Coast where the project is being set up. Tristram, who used to work at the centre here, is involved in setting up the project. He visited the Ivory Coast and this is one of his photos. He has told the people there about the Booth Centre and what we do here. We are really glad to be setting up a link with this project.

For the walk itself we split into two groups. One walked the nine mile Hebden Bridge to Haworth walk and the other group walked on the Pennine Way between the two towns, which made it a 15 mile walk. We walked through wooded valleys and over the moores.

Well done to James, James, Vinnie, Alan, Gabriel, John, John, Carl, George, Matt, Christine, John and Amanda. We raised over £300 in total, thanks to everyone who sponsored us.
